UTILITY MAPPING

Air Vacuum Excavation System

J K Guest Utility Mapping Solutions continue to use the latest technologies in our excavation services. Following our comprehensive utility mapping, trial pit excavations are safely carried out to determine size, depth and type of buried utilities. Trial pits are carried out in locations specified by the client, and excavated using our state of the art vacuum digging technology.

J K Guest has become the sole UK importer of the worlds most powerful air vacuum excavation system in it’s class. Especially when working around electricity services, excavation with air is much safer for operators, virtually eliminating the risk of serious injury from accidental cable strikes.

Air won’t damage costly underground utilities, like fibre optic cables, telephone and electrical lines.

The operation is faster. A typical 900mm deep excavation is completed in just minutes, even in difficult and compacted soils. Spoils from the excavation are kept dry, on-board the plant, for re-use as backfill.

By utilising the latest utility mapping and excavation technologies, manual handling injuries are greatly reduced, particularly back injuries.

No mechanical excavation means no proximity injuries caused by utilities being damaged by traditional excavators

The air vacuum excavation tools have a Hand Arm Vibration (HAV) reading of zero, allowing continuous excavation with no risk of HAV’s to the Operator. The air vacuum excavation tools are both non-destructive and non-conductive, virtually eliminating the risk of serious injury or death from electricity or gas strikes.

The risk of excavation collapse is greatly reduced due to the size of trial pits being much smaller.

The re-use of excavation spoils for backfilling is both cost effective and environmentally sound, and contaminated or slurried ground can be segregated into barrels for correct disposal in line with relevant legislation.

Utility Mapping and Air Vacuum Excavation services from J K Guest will also eliminate many of the costs associated with utility strikes by:

Reducing fines levied and costs resulting from delays following accidental strikes,

Reducing your man-hours with more efficient processes,

Reducing costs of procuring additional backfill and time spent on clean-up,

Greatly reducing design errors through the accurate provision of site specific information, and

We guarantee that all services located are accurately plotted and that the size, type and material is an accurate description. We are so confident with this system that any costs incurred by our clients due to inaccurate information or failure to locate a utility within the survey area, will be covered by J K Guest to the value of £250,000 per incident.
